ORGANIZATION
The Department of Education and CaixaBank Dualiza organize the event of the 24H of innovation Bcn. The 24 Hours of Innovation Barcelona by CaixaBank Dualiza is a free event, open to different audiences (students, creatives, professionals, employees, companies, and creators) in Catalonia and outside of it.

The 24H of innovation Bcn is not a contest. It is the opportunity to participate in an experience based on the active learning of knowledge, linked to innovation and creativity. And reward the three best proposals with an acceleration of their idea.

1.- Modalities of participation
The 24 Hours of Innovation Bcn is an event that is potentially open to any natural person of legal age. However, participating schools must register in advance on the official page of the 24H of innovation Bcn – www.24hbcn.com before the deadline set by the organizers.

The organizers reserve the right to deny participation to anyone if the maximum number of places is reached or for any other reason without having to justify their decision.

This 5th edition has two modalities of participation:

  • A network structure called School Hub where each center will participate, this participation will be denied to people not registered in the 24H of innovation Bcn.
  • Participation in the 24H of Bcn innovation in a face-to-face format in the Design Hub Barcelona space. This participation has limited places.

The participants’ meals of the face-to-face modality will be borne by the organizers depending on the hours and day of start (for example from Thursday night to Friday morning) subject to reservation of registration on the official website 24 hours a day innovation Barcelona.

However, the organizers are not responsible for the accommodation and travel expenses of the participants and all other costs incurred by the participants during the 24H of innovation Bcn.

2.- Participation quota
Registration and participation in the 24H innovation Bcn are free within the limit of the number of places established by the organization.

3.- Modalities of presentation of challenges for the 24H of innovation Bcn
Any company or organization can present a challenge for free during an edition of the 24H of innovation Bcn through the established channels. Different types of challenges can be proposed: a research and development topic, a new idea, a need, a new concept, or a problem…

By presenting the challenge on the official page of the 24H of Bcn innovation, the company is identified as the project leader during the 24H of Bcn innovation.

Project leaders are committed to communicating only accurate, real, and sincere information. Each project leader may be asked for details or additional justifications by the organizers of the 24H of innovation Bcn.

The challenges presented on the page of the 24H of innovation Bcn remain confidential and are only transmitted to the person in charge of the 24H of innovation Bcn.

After the validation of the challenge, the organizers will subsequently contact each project leader with the aim of proposing a summary of the challenge by a video that will be publicly revealed to the participants during the opening ceremony of the 24H of innovation Bcn.

Every person who participates in the 24H innovation Bcn pledges to respect the clauses of confidentiality and intellectual property.

The challenges must be presented on the official page of the 24H of innovation Bcn: www.24hbcn.com. Presentations can be written in Catalan, Spanish, or English.

4.- Modalities for the constitution of teams and attribution of topics
School Hub Modality
The constitution of teams is free and will not be imposed by the organizers of the 24H of innovation Bcn. The rules for forming teams are as follows:

  • 8 people (maximum) per team. Although it is recommended that they be 7.
  • We strongly recommend the constitution of heterogeneous teams made up of different profiles.
  • The challenges proposed by the different project leaders will be unveiled by the organizers of the 24H of innovation® during the opening ceremony of the 24H of innovation Bcn.
  • The organizers can authorize or not that several teams work on the same challenge.


Face-to-face Modality
The constitution of teams will be defined by the organization based on the generation of interdisciplinary and heterogeneous teams composed of different profiles.
The challenges proposed by the different project leaders will be unveiled by the organizers during the opening ceremony of the 24H of Innovació Barcelona.

4.1.- The participants, project leaders, and jury agree to:

  1. Assign the intellectual property of everything that is worked on.
  2. All the information communicated by the project leaders to the organizers of the 24H of innovation Bcn remains confidential until the opening of the 24H of innovation Bcn.
  3. All the participants of the 24H of innovation Bcn pledge to respect the confidentiality of the information to which they may have access during the 24H of innovation Bcn.
  4. The project leaders have full intellectual property of the ideas and projects submitted to the page of the 24H de innovación Bcn. The 24H innovation Bcn will be governed by Spanish intellectual property law.
  5. The members of the jury of the 24H of innovation Bcn pledge to respect the confidentiality of the information to which they will have access during the 24H of innovation Bcn.
  6. Participants pledge to send the maximum number of results and documents produced during the 24H of Bcn Innovation to the project leaders. Participants and project leaders are invited to agree on the information and results that may be revealed during the 3-minute presentation to the jury.
    However, if the interested parties cannot reach an agreement, the defenses of the projects by the development teams may exceptionally be carried out behind closed doors as long as both parties make an explicit request to the organizers. The organizers reserve the right to deny the request without justifying their decision.
  7. The organizers of the 24H of Bcn innovation pledge not to request royalties on the results obtained during the 24H of Bcn innovation.
    In this way, project leaders and participants will have full freedom of exploitation and industrialization of the results after the 24H of innovation Bcn.

4.2. – Designation of the winners of the 24H of innovation Bcn
After the 24H Bcn development innovation, the teams that participate in the School Hub modality will present a 3-minute video that will be evaluated by the company that has proposed the challenge. After reviewing all the videos, the company will select the best project. Deciding the 24 finalists of the School Hub modality. A jury made up of experts in innovation and entrepreneurship will evaluate the 24 School Hub finalists.

The teams that participate in the face-to-face modality will present their work in 3 minutes before the jury made up of experts in innovation and entrepreneurship will evaluate the 24 teams.

Taking into account the evaluations of the different juries and companies, a jury of experts will select the three best projects and developments carried out during the 24H of Bcn innovation. Members of these development teams will be recognized for their work at the close of the event.

5.- Evaluation of the results by the jury
The projects and developments will be judged by the members of the jury based on the following criteria:

  • Originality, creativity, and innovation of imagined solutions and concepts.
  • Respect for the environment, and sustainable development of imagined solutions and concepts.
  • Technical and economic feasibility of the imagined solutions and concepts.
  • Relevance to the needs of the users of the imagined solutions and concepts.


The winners and project leaders authorize the organizers and partners of the 24H de innovación Bcn to publish their first and last name, the full contact details of their company and organization (if applicable) in the context of communication actions, without be able to claim any rights, and this within the confidentiality limits of the project.

6.- Prizes The prizes will be established by the 24H de innovación Bcn organization and will not be disclosed until the winners are announced, except for the €1,000 prize awarded to the winning center, which will be evaluated based on the following factors:
  • Number of participating teams
  • Number of participating shakers
  • Publication in social networks tagging @ImpulsFP, @educaciocat and @caixabankdualiza and using the # of the event
  • Center open 24 hours
  • Broadcast quality
  • Participation in connections during the 24 hours
The organization of the 24H innovation Bcn is not responsible for the cost of sending the prize and/or gifts to the winners. However, the opportunity is given to pick them up at the Department of Education Vía Augusta 202-226 or to take charge of the total cost of shipping. In no case will the organization be responsible for the cost outside the borders of the Autonomous Community of Catalonia. If the prize is in a service format, the organization will only be responsible for the economic cost of the service and its use and enjoyment of it. In no case does the prize include the displacement of the winners and winners to the space where it is held. However, the organization will study the possibility of assuming the cost of the travel of the winning teams only from the Spanish State, in no case from the rest of the teams. If the teams do not accept the prize, the option of offering the service in an online format will be considered.

7.- Calendar of the 24H innovation Bcn

  • 60 days before the event: Official launch of the calls for projects, participations, and sponsors of 24H de innovación Bcn.
  • 30 days before the event: Deadline for submission of challenges.
  • 30 days before the event: Registration deadline. The organizers may close registrations if the maximum number of participants is reached before the deadline.

8.- Beginning of the 24H innovation Bcn

  • 24 hours after the start: End of project development.
  • 24 hours after the start: Defenses of the projects before the jury (3 min max.)
  • 1 hour after the last defense: Deliberation and announcement of the winners.


This calendar can be adapted by the organizer depending on the size of the event.

9.- Responsibilities and resignations

Every person participating in the 24H innovation Bcn accepts these regulations and pledges to respect confidentiality and intellectual property clauses.

The Dept. Educació and CaixaBank Dualiza as organizers of the 24H innovation Bcn as well as the legal representatives of ESTIA cannot, in any case, be held responsible for any behavior that fails in these obligations.

The Dept. Educació and CaixaBank Dualiza as organizers of the 24H of innovation Bcn as well as the legal representatives of ESTIA reserve the right to cancel the candidacy and participation of any person who does not respect these regulations, the materials, the premises, third parties…

The candidate undertakes not to present any appeal regarding the organizational conditions of the 24H of innovation Bcn, the results, and the decisions of the jury.
